ABOUT DAMIEN
Damien Calis is a short story writer and columnist, published in Scotland and on the world wide web. Regular themes include music, politics, religion and all those aspects of life that just don't seem to make any sense. His short stories usually involve the darker elements of life. He also works as a music correspondent for the online music magazine Muso's Guide, writing mainly about local bands.
Born in 1979, Damien has previously lived in the Netherlands and the United States of America, as well as studying in England before returning to Scotland. Travelling with a teddy bear named Kirstin, he enjoys making a fool out of himself in strange cultures and foreign countries. He is no longer welcome in the US.
Most of his life is spent regretting previous fuck-ups while steadily moving on to the next disaster. It makes for very entertaining writing. Not terribly competent in interpersonal skills and entirely incapable of maintaining a relationship, Damien lives in Edinburgh with his record collection and a pet tarantula called Men-an-tol.
